Update
I still have two posts coming to you guys this week. One from the new M.O. category that I am trying out and another about new and upcoming horror games! Both of these types of posts are new to the site and if there is anything that you would like to see (in a specific category or not), LET ME KNOW! I am open to all ideas, always! Just send me an email or message on social media and I will get back to you. This post will only contain information from Bethesda and please forgive my spelling! I was typing as fast as I could as they were speaking and also snapping pics from the videos and teasers.
The Good Stuff: Bethesda at E3
So, the video game related posts are new to the site. I did promise to update you guys on the new Fallout 76 from Bethesda. After watching the entire Bethesda conference at E3, I decided to just share everything with you guys. Since I look at gameplay before deciding on a game, I tried to include plenty of pictures from the show.
Rage 2
Rage 2 was the first announcement. Playing as the last ranger of the wasteland, in a dystopian world, you work to defeat enemies and progress through the story. The gameplay for this reminded me of destiny with the same types of kills and eerily similar grenade graphics.
Elder Scrolls Legends Relaunch
Bethesda is relaunching Elder Scrolls Legends with new visuals on Switch, XBox One, and PS4. You can play now and all content will be transferred through Bethesda.net accounts.
Elder Scrolls Online
With over one million players and MMO of the year for three years in a row, Bethesda works to release a new dlc or story content every quarter. Summerset is the most recent release with Wolf Hunter following behind it. Wolf Hunter is a dungeon dlc and will be followed by Murk Meyer (Mier? Sorry if the spelling is off).
Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal is a new sequel to Doom inspired by the players. Among the promised content were more badass demons, a more powerful doom slayer, and hell on earth. More information will be given at the Quake Con in August.
Quake Champions
Deemed the fastest multiplayer shooter, Quake champions expands the original e-sport with new features. This game is still in early access. THIS WEEK, go to quake.com for the free trial. If you download and play this week, you can keep playing (for free) until the release.
Prey
There will be a huge update rolling out tonight, featuring survival modes, story modes, and more. The new Moon Crash dlc is also available now! Tiphun Hunter (again, sorry for the spelling) will be released later this summer and will be, essentially, a huge game of hide and seek with five mimics and one person trying to stay hidden until the end. The mimics will be able to disguise themselves as everyday objects, so be careful what you run past! It was described as a tense multiplayer mode with jump scares.
Wolfenstein
Wolfenstein 2 will be coming to Nintendo Switch. The next project was also announced, Wolfenstein: Young Blood. The new game will leap forward in time and will focus on BJ’s twin daughters. Since the game is focusing on the twins, co-op gameplay will be available (as well as solo).
Virtual Reality
After bringing Fallout 4 to VR, Bethesda has plans to bring Prey’s new Tiphun Hunter and a single player, puzzle-based experience to the land of virtual reality. They are also working on getting a Wolfenstein game ready. Cyberpilot will have the players working as hackers, hacking the Nazi machines to turn them against their previous controllers.
Fallout: Vault 76
Holy shit, there is a lot going on here! Of course, this was my favorite part of the conference and one that I had already shared speculations about. Check out my previous post, here.
- NOVEMBER 14, 2018! That is when we can all begin our journey in a new and possibly confusing wasteland.
- Fallout: Vault 76 will be a prequel to all of the other games and will be 4x the size of Fallout 4.
- The game will be set in West Virginia and will actually bring in some folklore from the area.
- The dwellers in the game will be the first to emerge into an untamed wasteland.
- Fallout: Vault 76 will have 16x the detail of previous games and players will be able to view weather systems across the map.
- New creatures will be introduced.
- The game will be entirely online. Each dweller released from the vault will be a real person. The game will have dozens of other players to interact with.
- You can still play solo, facing others as you might have faced raiders in Fallout 4.
- Howard said that the easiest way to play is by teaming up with others and facing enemies and challenges together.
- Death does not mean loss of progression or the loss of your character.
- You can build wherever you want in this game, and move your home.
- Nuclear missile sites are featured on the map and you can do whatever you would like with them (blow up other settlements or wildlife).
Fallout 76 will have a B.E.T.A. (Break-it Early Test Application), sponsored by Vault-Tec. You can sign up on Bethesda.net. There will also be an awesome collector’s edition available that includes a glow-in-the-dark map of the wasteland, figures, and a power armor helmet(?).
Fallout Shelter
This will be coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, tonight. It will still be free.
Elder Scrolls Blades
With the success of Fallout Shelter, Bethesda is releasing a mobile game that is purely Elder Scrolls and includes a portrait mode (so you can play with one hand…or during meetings). The game will feature Abyss (an endless dungeon mode), Arena (PvP battle), and Town (main gameplay mode used to build your town and complete quests). It is supposed to flow seamlessly through devices so that you can play on your phone with someone on VR. Elder Scrolls Blades will be released this fall, but you can preorder tonight on Apple Store or Google Play. Sign up at playblades.com for early release.
In the Future
Not much information was given, but there were two games announced that are still in the making.
Starfield – a brand new, next gen., single-player franchise
Elder Scrolls VI
